Reiki

The Japanese word Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means 'universal life force energy ' rei meaning universal and ki meaning life force energy also referred to as chi or prana (Indian).

All living things have a subtle energy field which ancient traditions have recognised for over 5000 years, this energy is the basic constituent and source of all life and is vital for well being and vitality.

Other holistic treatments such as Acupuncture and shiatsu recognise the importance of this same energy flow and that the free flow of energy in each person is essential for each person´s health, happiness and well being.

The science?

Some people want to see the scientific elements to the art of healing, there have been many investigations and experiments into the human energy field otherwise known as the aura.

It has been deemed that the human energy field is made up of electrostatic, magnetic, electromagnetic sonic and thermal components. In 1988 research found measurements of frequencies for the colours in the aura.

What are the benefits?

Reiki can be used in many ways. Whether one is suffering from stress or tension, wishing to improve the quality of relationships at home or work, dealing with exam nerves, facing a major life change or in chronic pain, the beneficial effects of Reiki occur on many levels. Reiki can accelerate the healing of physical problems, balance the emotions, and free us from restrictive mental attitudes.

What happens during a treatment?

A treatment involves the client lying fully clothed lying on a massage couch in a comfortable and peaceful environment. The practitioner lays hands where necessary in a series of movements or positions on the body.

During the treatment you may feel a mild tingling, warmth, coolness or nothing at all. Individual treatment takes approximately 1 to 1¼ hours.

Tera Mai TM Reiki and Seichem

When experiencing or receiving Reiki and Seichem healing some people may feel the different energies, flow through them.

Seichem (pronounced Say- Keem) is an Egyptian energy system it refers to a person's God-energy or spark of the creator that we each carry deep within us, and was one of the practised in the temples in Egyptian times. Seichem greatly enhances and adds to the earth healing energy of Reiki.

Reiki energy

Connected to the earth element, this can be experienced as hot or cold, characteristics of earth energy are those of grounding and foundation, Reiki is fundamental to all other elemental healing rays. Reiki harmonises and rebalances the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

Sakara Energy

 Fire element, this can be experienced as tingling, electrical impulses. Sakara works in the aura, burns through and transforms blockages in the physical, mental, emotional and other spiritual bodies.

Sophi-el

Water element, This can be experienced as cool. Sophi-El reaches deep into the core within the emotional bodies, it opens the heart to receive love and feel compassion, aiding emotional healing.

Angelic light

A two-fold ray, working with both the element Air and the Angelic realm. This can be experienced as cool wafting breezes. Air expresses the qualities of communication, enhancing the healers perception and facilitating an improved spiritual link between the client, healer and Ascended Master.
